Establishment of a Safe Navigation System on the River Nile

RTC initiated the establishment of a safe navigation system on the Nile River in Egypt. In addition to establishing project consortia, we have arranged funding in order to realize both the feasibility studies and the project implementation. The projects were developed in close coordination with both the Egyptian and Netherlands governments, the private sectors in both countries and financial institutions in both regions.

Acquisition of a Substantial Interest in a Cable Manufacturer

RTC advised one of its long term multinational clients on the acquisition of a substantial shareholding in a publicly listed cable manufacturer in the Arabian Gulf. In addition to assisting our client in the negotiations with the target company, we negotiated with that country’s securities market authority in order to identify a structure which would enable our (foreign) client to acquire the shares. After the acquisition was completed, at the request of the client, RTC remained involved in the business by representing the client on the Board of Directors of the target company.

Privatizations

RTC has represented and advised European clients in acquiring participations in companies being privatized in the Middle East and North Africa; particularly in the transportation sector. Similarly we have concluded transactions for Middle Eastern clients wishing to participate in European privatizations. In addition to negotiating with the respective governments on behalf of our clients, we have also assisted our clients in raising the required funds.

Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals

RTC has advised energy firms worldwide in their quest to obtain concession rights throughout the Middle East and North Africa. In addition, we have assisted various (sub)contractors in developing opportunities in the construction of petrochemical plants and refineries (and the supply of materials therefore).

Engineering and Construction

Throughout the region, RTC has assisted multinational construction and engineering firms to identify and develop opportunities in those sectors. Concluded projects include large scale housing projects, pipelines, harbors and petrochemical plants.

Establishment of Agency Networks and Regional Offices

RTC has assisted its clients in establishing local agency networks throughout the Middle East and North Africa across various sectors. In addition, we have advised clients on the establishment of their regional offices and at the request of these clients have remained involved on an ongoing basis.

Construction of a (Sub)Power Station in the Middle East

RTC advised a Netherlands based client on the development and construction of a (Sub) Power Station in one of the countries of the Middle East. In addition to assisting the client in its negotiations in that country, we assisted in obtaining bilateral grant funds which benefited both our client as well as the receiving country.

Cost Efficiency of Local (Foreign) Operations

On behalf of its clients RTC has negotiated and achieved substantial reductions in local operating costs.
